It’s out there somewhere

Just like most of you, I had pre-ordered a copy of the new Harry Potter book. The bookseller guaranteed delivery, but somehow didn’t manage to get me my copy on time.  Still, we muggles up here witnessed a few amazing sights Sunday and watched dramatic events unfolding. The deep-sea robotic vehicle Jaguar had to abort its mission and rise back to the surface. It was somewhere under the ice, roughly 530 meters (1,738 feet) away from the icebreaker Oden. But in which direction? Researchers’ instruments did not give us the ability to determine that. Wizardry would have come in handy, but we had to rely on more mortal abilities: intelligence, perseverance, skill, and courage.
