Clay is a graduate student in the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution/Massachusetts Institute of Technology joint program. He spends a lot of time working on the autonomous vehicles, making sure that everything is working (particularly the cameras), and helping to ensure that they come back to the boat after they're done swimming around under the ice.
